Liar!

“… University of Massachusetts psychologist Robert Feldman said: “We find that as soon as people feel that their self-esteem is threatened, they immediately begin to lie at higher levels.”

“…only humans are wired to deceive both themselves and others, researchers say. People are so engaged in managing how others perceive them that they are often unable to separate truth from fiction in their own minds…”

There are 5 Ted talks about lying.

Is it an epidemic or just a part of life? Is it for self protection or to hurt someone else? Are you self righteous or self consumed? Should I hate you for your deceit or admire you for your strategic thinking? Perhaps I’ll just pity you.

By being accepting of obvious lying from our politicians, other people in our lives and our world, we are complicit in the lie. When it harms us or others, it’s often too late.

There are punishments for liars. When they are caught. But what about when they are not?
